Linofed 460 Hot Topping

Description

Linofed 460 is a very fast firing material, generating intense heat & producing a highly insulating, self supporting crust. Linofed 460 will assist the efficient feeding of a wide range of alloys, including cast iron & alloy steel casting risers & can also be used with brasses & bronzes. Very satisfactory results can be obtained using Linofed 460 in conjunction with exothermic & insulating sleeves.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION

Apply Linofed 460 to form a complete layer on the riser or feeder head immediately after casting in order to reduce heat loss. On small risers up to 70 mm diameter we recommend a layer thickness of 5-10 mm. On risers above 70 mm we recommend a layer of 10-15 mm. No benefit is obtained by using an excess of this product since this slows down ignition & could result in the feeder head sculling over.
